 Bill Gates -Power of Imagination

How the Power of Imagination empowered Bill Gates to think big and visualize what he wanted to achieve Bill Gates is chairperson and chief software architect of Microsoft
Corporation, the worldwide leader in software services and internet technologies for personal and business computing. He is a multi-billionaire.

Gates was intelligent, imaginative and ambitious even as a child. He was bored at school and his parents were always trying to feed him more information to keep him busy. The turning point of his life came when he first saw a computer. In 1968, the 13-year-old Gates and his friends formed a ‘programmers group’. Within a week, he knew more about computers than his teacher at school.

In 1975, Gates dropped out from Harvard after completing his first year of college. He soon formed Microsoft with the vision of having ‘a computer on every desk and Microsoft software on every computer’. Today, this vision seems to have come true. Gates ‘saw’ millions of computers spread
all over the world with Microsoft’s software much before it really happened.

The important factors behind Gates’s phenomenal rise were his Power of Imagination and continuous hard work. He believes you can achieve anything if you are hard-working and know how to apply your imagination.

Three important lessons can be learnt from Gates’s life:
a) You should discover your true liking as early as possible and develop a drive for excellence in your chosen field.
b) You should use your Power of Imagination to visualize your future and set your goals.
c) You should work hard to achieve those goals.
